Rule of Entry

  1. All cakes must be homemade.

  2. All cakes are to be submitted as a whole, i.e. a completed cake.

  3. All cakes must be submitted with a recipe attached,

  4. All cakes must be submitted at Mpendae Mall, Room No.: 39 no later than 17:00 hours on the day of the event.

  5. Upon submission, each contestant will be assigned a number for judging

  6. The cakes will be judged according to the following criteria:

    1. Appearance

    2. Texture

    3. Flavor and Smell

    4. Taste

  7. The judges will taste-test all entries, and each judge will complete a judging sheet which will indicate each entry’s score. Each criterion will be judged on a scale of 1 to 5 - 5 being the highest. A combined score will be calculated to indicate the final scoring placement. Once all scores have been tallied, an independent adjudicator will announce the winner.

  8. There is no big money prize pot; a cake sand trophy or kitchen utility gist and the like could be among the prizes.

  9. Mpendae Mall reserves the right to make changes to these Rules of Entry and/or the Deadline at any time.
